An exciting full-time opportunity exists in Bathurst for a qualified Upholsterer to join a well-reputed Australian organization on a permanent employment.
About The Company
Our client is a leading Australian architectural upholstery manufacturer. The business concentrates on individually designed and custom-built seating and panelling. Due to the business expansion, they are now seeking to further strengthen the existing team with an additional Upholsterer.
About The Role
The role we are looking to fill includes a lot of sewing and general upholstery processes.
Duties & Responsibilities
- making and repairing wooden frames, and removing and replacing defective springs
- manufacturing some new timber substrates and chair/stool tops
- removing coverings, webbing and padding from old furniture
- securing material, padding, springs and webbing to articles to be upholstered
- cutting foam and dacron padding materials
- working with feather/foam and feather poly filling materials
- operating a computerized fabric cutter
- overlocking and seaming cushions and manufacture of covering fabrics
- sewing decorative stitch designs and producing articles in fabrics, leather and vinyls
- attaching ornamental trims, braids and buttons
- cleaning, scotch guarding and sometimes removing stains from fabric
About You
To be considered for this role, you should have a certificate III in Upholstery or equivalent experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Essential Selection Criteria
- Certificate III in Upholstery or relevant experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team to achieve positive outcomes
- Living in Bathurst (or willing to relocate)
- Minimum 2 years of experience within similar industry
