Initial consultation – “WHAT CAN I EXPECT AT A LAWYER CONSULTATION?”
Your appointment will be with an experienced lawyer and it is a very important meeting that could make or break your case.
During your consultation, the solicitor will ask about the issues in your case and discuss the merits of the actions and the various ways you can proceed, determine the nature of the legal issue, discuss available options and receive an estimate of costs to proceed with your matter. You will decide if you want to work with the solicitor and the solicitor will let you know whether she is willing to take your case.
If your matter is complex more time will be needed as we will not be able to properly interview you and assess your matter. (remember to add more time if we are required to check documents).
Consultation and advice outcome
Based on your personal circumstances and the law,
- There may be positive strategies and a potential for positive outcome or
- Difficult strategy which may lead to an uncertain outcome (positive or negative) or
No lawful strategy to obtain a positive outcome and you may have a negative outcome, i.e., we may have to tell things that you may not anticipate and not like to hear or options you may not desire.
